Mini Stock Finish Revised for Mid-Season Championship

FitzGerald dropped to 13th with unapproved wheel offset

WEST HAVEN, Vt. – Devil’s Bowl Speedway officials on Monday announced a penalty in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Portland Glass Mini Stock division.

The No. 55 car, driven by Andrew FitzGerald, has been placed last in the finish order for the Friend Construction Mid-Season Championship race run on Saturday, July 23 on the half-mile Asphalt Track at Devil’s Bowl. FitzGerald’s infraction was using a wheel with an unapproved offset measurement.

FitzGerald has been dropped from his original third-place finish and will collect 13th-place points and purse money. The penalty is consistent with one levied to another driver at the Coca-Cola Firecracker on July 2 for a similar rulebook violation.

With the penalty, the revised finishing order sees Brad Bertrand moved up to third place, followed by Brett Wood and Garrett Given Sr.

Devil’s Bowl Speedway’s Asphalt Track is back in action on Saturday, July 30 at 7:00 p.m. on the Asphalt Track as the Community College of Vermont presents Twin 25s for the Sportsman Modifieds. General admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors (62+) and teens (13-17), and free for kids 12 and under.

Devil’s Bowl Speedway is located on Route 22A in West Haven, Vt., four miles north of Exit 2 off of U.S. Route 4 and just 20 minutes from Rutland, Vt.
