Valenti Modified Racing Series Washed Out by Rainy Forecast at Devil’s Bowl Speedway

Wet weather forecasted for Friday forces postponement

WEST HAVEN, VT – Devil’s Bowl Speedway will suffer its first rainout of the 2015 season on Friday, July 24, as a result of a wet forecast into the evening. With showers and possible thunderstorms expected until at least 6:00 p.m., management from Devil’s Bowl Speedway and the Valenti Modified Racing Series have agreed to postpone the inaugural Newport Chevrolet-Buick-GMC 100.

“There are a lot race teams and fans that were planning to travel from several hours away to come to Devil’s Bowl for the first time, and we want to give them the best experience possible,” Devil’s Bowl promoter Mike Bruno said. “It would be a tall order to get the race track dry, give the race teams ample practice time, and get the racing underway much before 9:00 p.m., which would not be fair to anyone.”

The two groups are working toward a make-up date for the event, which will be announced as soon as possible. The event was also scheduled to include four divisions from the track’s weekly NASCAR Whelen All-American Series presented by Yandow Sales & Service and John Deere.

The Speedway’s next event is scheduled to be Allen Pools & Spas Night on Friday, July 31 at 7:30 p.m., featuring kids’ racecar rides.
