Devil’s Bowl Speedway Postpones CCV Night to Sunday, July 18

Vintage Modifieds cancelled for Sunday program

WEST HAVEN, Vt. – Devil’s Bowl Speedway has postponed the Community College of Vermont (CCV) Night event from Saturday, July 17 to Sunday, July 18 due to rain. Sunday’s program will feature the track’s five weekly racing divisions, with action starting at 6:00 p.m.

The Mohawk Valley Vintage Dirt Modified Series, which was scheduled to race on Saturday, has elected to cancel its portion of the event and will not be on track on Sunday due to the postponement.

The CCV Night event kicks off the second half of the championship chase at Devil’s Bowl Speedway for the 2021 season, as things took a big turn at the Mid-Season Championships last week. Defending Sportsman Modified champion Demetrios Drellos opened a large – though not insurmountable – 76-point lead over three-time champion Vince Quenneville after last-lap drama saw Quenneville go spinning at the checkered flag.

On the other side of the coin, the O’Reilly Auto Parts Limited Sportsman division changed from a one-man show into a four-man brawl. Budding young stars Austin Comes, Beau Reeves, Evan Roberts, and Troy Audet now find themselves entangled just 10 points apart at the top of the leaderboard.

Six-time feature winner Chris Murray leads Paul Braymer by 38 points in the Super Stock division as Braymer knocks on the door of his first win of the season. The margins in the Summit Up Construction Mini Stock division are razor thin as Chris Sumner leads Craig Kirby by just six points. Ray Hanson’s stranglehold on the Friend Construction 500cc Mini Sprint division loosed just a bit last week, and his lead shrunk to 61 points on Kaidin White.

Grandstand admission is $12 for adults and $5 for children (12 and under). Tickets are available online at https://buytickets.at/devilsbowlspeedway and at the speedway on race day. Infield drive-in parking will be closed on Sunday. Pit passes are $25 for members and $35 for non-members, available at the speedway or on the “Pit Pay” Mobile App; the minimum age in the pit area is 10 years old, with proof of age required for minors age 10-17.
