Devil’s Bowl Speedway has long been known as “Vermont’s Fastest Half-Mile.” The track was built by C.J. Richards and opened in 1967. Devil’s Bowl Speedway has seen several transformations during its lifespan; it was dirt for its first four seasons before being paved in 1971. The dirt surface returned in 1975, and the track was again paved in 2010, complete with progressive banking in the corners. A new era for the track began in 2012 under the leadership of new owners Mike & Alayne Bruno; Mike Bruno was a second-generation Devil’s Bowl Speedway competitor for 25 years.
The 2014 schedule features 15 asphalt race dates sanctioned by the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series, with four weekly racing divisions – open-wheel, dirt-style Modifieds; American-Canadian Tour-type Late Models; eight-cylinder Renegades; and four-cylinder Mini Stocks. Devil’s Bowl Speedway has also has created a new Kart Series for aspiring young drivers to test their skills on a new paved infield track.
New for 2014, the dirt surface will return for a highly anticipated three-event series in September and October, with a full-time return to asphalt racing the spring of 2015.
