Racers: General Info

ALL DRIVERS MUST BE NASCAR LICENSED. NO EXCEPTIONS. All drivers must file paperwork including payment assignment, W-9 tax form, and engine registration prior to competing. Competitors will be able to purchase NASCAR Whelen All-American Series (NWAAS) licenses at Devil’s Bowl Speedway, at the speedway office in Rutland, Vt., via mail, or online (renewals only) at NASCARMembers.com.

NWAAS license pricing is as follows:

  • Div. I/Feature (Sportsman Modified Driver or Owner): $200.00
  • Div. II, III, IV/Charger (Late Model, Renegade, Mini Stock Driver or Owner): $100.00
  • Crew Members (All Divisions): $100.00

ALL drivers MUST obtain a current, valid NWAAS license prior to competition – NO EXCEPTIONS. Temporary 15-day licenses are available; all fees collected from temporary license will be credited toward upgrade to full license.

NWAAS 15-Day license pricing is as follows:

  • Div. I/Feature (Sportsman Modified Driver or Owner): $50.00
  • Div. II, III, IV/Charger (Late Model, Renegade, Mini Stock Driver or Owner): $25.00
  • Crew Members (All Divisions): $25.00
  • Purchase of four (4) temporary 15-day licenses will automatically upgrade licensee to full membership status.

The minimum age for a NWAAS Learner’s Permit license is 14. Please read the NASCAR Technical Bulletin regarding this.

Every team must fill out an Owner/Car Number Registration Form and a W-9 tax form before competing. (CLICK HERE) or you may get one at the race track or the Rutland office.

The NWAAS license form is not available online for first-time members. Licenses may be mailed to Devil’s Bowl Speedway or directly to NASCAR with payment or credit card information.

ALL CARS in all divisions are required to have a working MYLAPS transponder at all times, unless otherwise noted.

All driver in all divisions are required to have a working one-way radio transmitter to be in contact with the Race Director at all times.  This is not optional, this is a safety device.  The RACEceiver is the most common item used: RACEceiver.com

MINORS IN THE PITS
• All competitors age 20 and under MUST fill out an official Minor’s Release signed by a parent/guardian prior to entering the pit area – NO ONE under 20 will be permitted to compete without one. A copy of the birth certificate is required to accompany the Minor’s Release. The completed Minor’s Release will be valid for the remainder of the season, but will need to be renewed each year until the minor becomes 21 years of age.
• The minimum age for minors entering the pit area is 10 years old. All children under the age of 14 MUST be accompanied by an adult AT ALL TIMES.
