One fan guaranteed to win big at inaugural Yorkmont Auto Auctions “Memorial Day 5000” event
WEST HAVEN, Vt. – Hey race fans, can you keep a secret?
Someone is going to win $5,000 at Devil’s Bowl Speedway on Memorial Day weekend, but don’t tell your friends – you’ll have a better chance of winning that way!
Yorkmont Auto Auctions of Fair Haven, Vt., has joined the Devil’s Bowl Speedway family and will host the first-ever “Yorkmont Memorial Day 5000” at the half-mile Asphalt Track on Saturday night, May 28, and one lucky fan will win a guaranteed $5,000 prize with a chance to double the winnings.
The contest is open to anyone age 18 or older who purchases a regular-price $12 adult general admission ticket or a $10 senior ticket for the event. Yorkmont Auto Auctions will host automobile dealers from the area with each setting up a booth on the Midway at Devil’s Bowl. Each fan will receive a contest card at the ticket gate and must visit all of the dealer booths between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. After getting verification from each dealer, cards will be entered into a blind draw with one lucky fan winning the $5,000 prize with no strings attached.
Yorkmont Auto Auctions has also offered to double the deal: If the winner of the $5,000 prize chooses to later purchase an approved vehicle from one of the dealers, Yorkmont will make a $5,000 down payment toward the purchase of the vehicle, bringing the total prize to an incredible $10,000.
Kids can win, too, as Yorkmont will give away passes to Six Flags Great Escape & Splashwater Kingdom in Lake George, N.Y.
“I guarantee that you won’t find a deal like this at any other race track in America, and that’s why you should keep it a secret – don’t tell your friends!” said Shawn Camara of Yorkmont Auto Auctions. “Where else can you spend twelve bucks, have fun with the family at the races, and have a chance to win five or ten grand?”
In addition to hosting the “Memorial Day 5000” on Saturday night, May 28, Yorkmont Auto Auctions will sponsor three racecars from the FitzGerald family team of West Rutland, Vt. Renegade division veteran Scott FitzGerald, Portland Glass Mini Stock driver Andrew FitzGerald, and first-time Bandit youth division racer Roo Forrest will each carry the Yorkmont “license plate” logo on their cars throughout 2016.
Yorkmont Auto Auctions is open to registered dealers Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with auctions in two lanes on Tuesday mornings at 10:00 a.m. Yorkmont Auto Auctions is located on Route 22A in Fair Haven, Vt., at 799 South Main Street.
