Only $15 for the whole family at jam-packed racing event on August 3

WEST HAVEN, VT – Devil’s Bowl Speedway is “Vermont’s Fastest Family Fun” spot, and the West Haven half-mile asphalt oval is pulling out all the stops for the first-ever “Family Fun Friday” event on Friday, August 3. With a buy-one-get-one-free ticket offer up for grabs, the jam-packed program of NASCAR Whelen All-American Series stock car racing and family entertainment fits every budget.

Special $15 adult general admission pricing is in effect for “Family Fun Friday” on August 3, but with the buy-one-get-one-free offer, the whole family can enjoy local NASCAR racing and an evening of fun for just $15 – as always, kids 12 and under will be admitted free. Delicious food is available including burgers, chicken, sausage, fries, Coca-Cola refreshments and more, with meal deals starting at just $8.

Five big feature races will be on the card along with preliminary qualifying heats, plus free race car rides for kids and Fun Bus tours of the pit area and race track, a video arcade, and the Devil’s Den lounge – complete with live video of the racing action – for moms and dads.

The ground-pounding, open-wheel Modifieds will compete in two 20-lap championship features, forcing high-point drivers Ron Proctor, Vince Quenneville, Jr., Leon Gonyo, Jessey Mueller, Alex Bell, and Hunter Bates to be on their game. The twin-20s format means no-holds-barred sprint racing, and with the fastest cars handicapped to the back of the starting grid, the action will be intense.

As part of the special show, the entry-level four-cylinder Bomber division will run an extra-distance 30-lap race. Rookie Josh Masterson won five of the first seven races in 2012, but has just a one win since June 15. Harold, Bobby, and Chris LaVair have kept Masterson on his toes along with Ray Germain, Jr., Matt Monaghan, Garrett Given, Mitchell Dundon, and Gerald LaFlam. J&S Steel Late Model point leader Craig Bushey will try to fend off Matt White and Bryan Town as they close in, and the Renegades continue their tight battle with Rob Gordon, Ryan Keith, and Jeremy Jones separated by less than 40 points.

“There isn’t a better entertainment value anywhere than our ‘Family Fun Friday’ buy-one-get-one-free deal on August 3,” Devil’s Bowl Speedway owner/promoter Alayne Bruno said. “There’s awesome action on the track, and when you add in kids rides, the Fun Bus, the arcade, and the Devil’s Den, we’ve got something for just about everyone that fits every budget.”

Gates open at 5:00pm on Friday, August 3 with green flag racing at 7:30pm. Kids race car rides will be from 6:45pm to 7:15pm. Devil’s Bowl Speedway is located 20 minutes from Rutland, VT and Granville, NY on Route 22A in West Haven, VT, four miles north of Exit 2 on US Route 4.
