$10,000-to-win “Battle at the Bowl” Modified race primed for Sunday
WEST HAVEN, Vt. – Devil’s Bowl Speedway has cancelled the racing action on Friend Construction Night for Saturday, August 7. A massive and unexpected deluge of rain dumped more than three inches of water in just 45 minutes around 2:30 p.m.
Track preparation crews estimated that the event would not have been able to start until approximately 9:00 p.m., and with Kids Racecar Rides scheduled for intermission, the program would have gone far too late into the night. All tickets and pit passes purchased online will be refunded and the Kids Racecar Rides will be rescheduled.
The focus now shifts to Sunday’s “Battle at the Bowl” event, featuring the top Big Block and Small Block Dirt Modified drivers in the country including Stewart Friesen, Matt Sheppard, Mat Williamson, Kenny Tremont Jr., defending champion Anthony Perrego, and many more. Racing starts at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.
The 50-lap Main Event pays $10,000 to win, with twin 25-lap preliminary features each paying $1,500 to win. In addition, the Sportsman Modified division will be on hand with a $2,000-to-win, 40-lap feature, and the Limited Sportsman and Mini Stock divisions will each have double features.
Grandstand general admission for Sunday is $30 for adults and $5 for kids aged 12 and under. Tickets are available online at https://buytickets.at/devilsbowlspeedway and at the speedway on race day. Infield drive-in parking is $40 for adults and free for kids aged 12 and under. Pit passes are $45 per person, available at the speedway or on the “Pit Pay” Mobile App; the minimum age in the pit area is 10 years old, with proof of age required for minors, per Vermont State Law.
Devil’s Bowl Speedway is located on Route 22A in West Haven, Vt., four miles north of U.S. Route 4, Exit 2, and just 20 minutes from Rutland, Vt.
