Stewart’s Shops Become Official Convenience Store of Devil’s Bowl & Airborne Park Speedways for 2024 season.

WEST HAVEN, VT—Devil’s Bowl and Airborne Park Speedways have a new partner for 2024: Stewart’s Shops.

The famous New York and Vermont gas station and convenience store chain, known for it’s ice cream since 1945, has come on board as a premier partner and supporter of local auto racing in the Champlain Valley just in time for an exciting new era in local dirt track racing that sees Mike & Alayne Bruno assume control of Airborne Park’s racing operations on top of beginning the 14th season as the owners and promoters of Devil’s Bowl.

Stewart’s Shops’ history dates back to 1917 when brothers Charles and Percy Dake purchased their father’s dairy farm in Middle Grove, N.Y. They manufactured and sold dairy products, specializing in ice cream, for 28 years before buying the first Stewart’s Shop in Ballston Spa, N.Y. in 1945. The Dake family continues to be involved in the company, which now has over 350 locations in Vermont and New York, though more than 40% of the company is owned by its employees through a stock ownership plan.

Stewart’s has five locations across Rutland, Fair Haven, and Poultney and six shops in  Plattsburgh alone and over 50 stores within the footprint of both speedways. Stewart’s Shops are open 18-20 hours a day. With some locations open as late as 1:00 a.m.
