Heavy rains wash out racing; make-up details TBA; next event August 21
WEST HAVEN, VT – Mother Nature was the only winner at Devil’s Bowl Speedway on Friday, August 14, as heavy rains washed out Heritage Family Credit Union “Member Night” at the Rutland County track. The event was scheduled to host four divisions of stock car racing for the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series presented by Yandow Sales & Service and John Deere, as well as street-legal spectator racing.
All Heritage Family Credit Union members were admitted free of charge at the event; details concerning the rescheduling of the HFCU Member Night will be announced soon, as well as the racing program.
Devil’s Bowl Speedway’s next event is scheduled for Friday, August 21 as Brown’s Quarried Slate and Brown’s Orchard & Farm Stand present the racing action for the Bond Auto Parts Modifieds, Central Vermont Motorcycles Late Models, Brileya’s Chrysler-Jeep Renegades, and Portland Glass Mini Stocks.
The event marks the first-ever “Bake A Cake Night” for the Thomas Dairy Kids Club, as fans both young and old are encouraged to bring a sweet treat for their favorite driver to be presented at intermission. Regular general admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, and free for kids age 12 and under. Gates open at 5:00 p.m., with racing at 7:00 p.m.
