Track officials monitoring weather for Sunday, July 10 event; decision to be made Sunday morning
WEST HAVEN, Vt. – Devil’s Bowl Speedway has been forced to postpone its Rutland Herald Mid-Season Championships event on the half-mile Asphalt Track on Saturday, July 9 due morning rains and a forecast of wet weather during race time in the evening.
All four of the track’s weekly NASCAR Whelen All-American Series divisions were scheduled to compete for double championship points, and the annual driver autograph session was to held during intermission. A make-up date for the event will be announced soon.
Speedway officials will continue to monitor the weather for Sunday, as the 3/10-mile Dirt Track is scheduled to host the Interstate All Battery Center Mid-Season Championships and “Vince Quenneville Sr. Memorial 38” on Sunday, July 10. As of press time on Saturday, the Sunday event is still on as planned; a final decision will be announced on Sunday morning.
Regular general admission for the Dirt Track on Sunday, July 10 is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors (62+) and students (13-17), and free for kids age 12 and under. Gates open at 4:00 p.m. and racing starts at 6:00 p.m.
